Case Study: Security First Network Bank — Now RBC Bank (USA)

Client: Security First Network Bank (SFNB), Atlanta, Georgia

Industry: e-Commerce, Financial Services

Challenge:
SFNB, North America's first true Internet bank, found itself in an ideal position, but one that presented it with a difficult challenge. As a start-up company experiencing tremendous growth, SFNB was rapidly recruiting — and training — new employees. SFNB needed an innovative and cost-effective way to teach new hires about the company's policies and procedures, educate them about the banking industry, and manage their learning in an automated manner.

Solution:
Algario designed, wrote and developed the SFNB Learning Management System, a completely customized, Intranet-based training program for all new employees. This program used adult learning principles to educate new employees on SFNB as well as U.S. banking rules and regulations. Interactive graphics, dynamic quizzes and review tests were included to measure knowledge and performance. Automated sign-up tools for the integrated classroom learning sessions were also developed to reduce manual scheduling by HR staff.

Results:
SFNB was able to greatly reduce the resources allocated to training new employees, and was able to cut training time in half. Furthermore, eLearning significantly improved results and on-the-job performance.
